smiling into the face of your captor
and keeping the faith forever after
trapped snapped into the in-between
transitioning through and around
sight unseen.

there's a choice in the voice of my visitor
and my visions now approaching clarity.

for those who are scared and hurting
for those who are running and hiding
for those who are frowning, and scratching and biting,
but not in a nice way... with spite even.
