off to boston and back again. I just got off the bus, and hightailed my pretty ass right to the office. There was the cutest interracial couple on the bus with me - I love seeing 'em, always have, it just seems so sublimely subversive to me. And such a blatant signal of positive change - of people getting past their prejudices and falling in love, and making the prettiest babies. This couple had two kids, a boy who looked like he was about 8, and a little girl who was maybe 3 months old. They were going all the way to New Orleans - from Boston, kinda peculiar. The dad was this tall black dude, and the mom was a stocky pale redhead - they both exuded some kind of contented satisfaction... at having found each other? at having beaten all the odds? pride in their happy little multi-culti brood? whatever it was, I was glad to sit behind 'em for the four hours and bask in the glow.
